Privacy note
Last updated 28 October 2026
Hit The Hay is designed to collect nothing about you or your baby.
- No ads, no tracking, no analytics. There are no advertising, analytics or social-media scripts, and no cookies.
- No accounts. You never need to sign up or give an email address.
- Messages you send us. If you use the Get in touch form, your message (and your name and email, only if you give them) is stored on our hosting so we can read and reply. It is never shared or sold, never used for marketing, and deleted once dealt with or whenever you ask. Stories are only ever shared anonymously, and only if you tick the box. To stop spam, a scrambled code of your IP address is kept for one hour, and the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-friendly “I’m human” check, which loads only on that page.
- Stored on your device only. Your volumes, saved mixes, last mix, timer choice, night-mode and baby-volume-limit settings and any premium unlock are kept in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your phone. Clearing the site’s data removes them.
- Offline storage. The app and its sounds are saved in your browser’s cache so they work without a connection.
- Hosting. The files are served by Cloudflare Pages, which, like any web server, may briefly keep standard technical logs (such as IP addresses) to run and protect its service. Hit The Hay itself does not receive or use them.
- Latest video card. The “Latest from Hit The Hay” card is fetched from our own site, which reads YouTube’s public feed and thumbnail for you – so your browser does not contact YouTube or Google unless you tap the card, which opens YouTube in a new tab (YouTube’s own privacy policy applies there). Videos are never embedded in the app.
- No microphone or camera. The app only plays sound; it never records.
If premium purchases are added in future, payment will be handled by the payment provider, and this note will be updated before then.
