- Heavy rain – a full, even downpour.
- Rain on the window with thunder – heavy rain on the glass with deep, rolling thunder.
- Gentle storm – soft rain with far-off thunder, levelled so nothing jumps out.
- Rain on a car roof, a tin roof or a tent – soft drumming, each with its own character.
For little ones, choose light rain or rain from the Babies & Children section rather than the louder thunder recordings.

- Mix rain with a fireplace or brown noise and set each volume separately.
